1- OFF THE ROAD 🚘
Safety was really important to me. Living right off a rural highway meant fast cars flying by. So when placing our stand I pushed it back into our driveway. This allows everyone to pull up to the stand safely.
2- DOORS 🚪
You might think it’s counter intuitive to have doors on your stand. But for me, it’s was essential. I wanted to be able to keep products in the stand. Lugging products back and forth every day was not for me. Which meant a lockable 🔒 door. Doors also allow me to protect product in any kind of weather. At our stand we aren’t just selling veggies 🥕
3- LIGHT 💡
If you know me, you will know I have a love of lights (no one was surprised when I married an electrician ⚡️). Having lights on + in the stand makes it’s easy for clean up 🧹 at night. Our lights have also gained us a lot of interest from local neighbours and passers bye 👋. Our lights are solar, no need for hubby to break out the tools.
4-CASH BOX 🗃️ + PAYMENT
The cash 💵 box we have is screwed into the inside of our stand making it secure. I highly recommend you get one of these. While having a cash box is great, most payments come thru EMT. I encourage you put up a sign with an alternative to cash. Make sure you signage is big saying “cash here” if your box is not labeled and your EMT even bigger. It will help you cut back on DM, messages, emails and phone calls.
5- SECURITY 🔐
We live rurally, and don’t live on the premises as of yet. So security was Travis top priority. We have not one, not two but three cameras in the vicinity (also solar powered). Now graded our property use to be the hot spot for trespassing 🎣 🥾. You will have stuff stolen, not everyone honourable on the honor system. The last part of our security is our gate! It is a physically boundary to the public.
